Mundane.

I'm terrible at keeping up with this blog right now. But I'm also terrible at finding time to sew, so that doesn't help.

School is busy, and I haven't had a weekend to myself in a long, long time. It also doesn't help that I don't really have a sewing space in my apartment. It's really small and I feel bad taking over the table, when that's the place that my roommates and I eat.

But remember this? Ive basted the triangle quilt and it's ready to be quilted! I haven't found the time to dedicate to it though, so right now it's sitting idle in my sewing box.

I've accomplished a few little things, like cutting up fabric for ANOTHER quilt (yes, I'm crazy) and mending CJ's pants. I swear, that man must be doing enthusiastic ballet dancing in his jeans, because I've never seen anyone wear through the crotch of his pants so quickly and so often.

2.5" x 14" strips!

And pants mending.

That Triangle Quilt

Between applying for jobs (without success), getting into the swing of school, and venturing out into DC, I made the time to finish up the triangle wedding quilt top!

Here it is, hanging from my loft in my apartment

Back when I finished the triangle portion, I was lamenting how small the quilt ended up being. Genevieve suggested I add a border, and the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. And now that it's all put together, it looks fantastic! AND it's bigger, which was the whole point!

I'm still trying to figure out all the features of my new machine, I think I may take a "get to know your machine" class at the store I bought it from.
